WELCOME TO PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN IN
NEW CASTLE PRESBYTERY!
This website was designed to provide visitors with the most current news and information about Presbyterian Women of New Castle Presbytery.
PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN is a churchwide organization whose membership is open to all women. PW members are those who choose to participate in or be supportive of Presbyterian Women in any way. PW intentionally seeks the membership of women from all racial/ethnic groups so that the organization may reflect a vision of the whole church as a community of mutual interdependence in which diversity contributes to wholeness. PW gives strong support to the mission of the denomination and determines its leadership, program and budget. Learn more about PW and consider joining your local group.
Presbyterian Women in New Castle Presbytery are part of the Synod of the Mid-Atlantic which includes Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, North Carolina, Virginia and a small section of West Virginia, and Presbyterian Women in the Presbyterian Church[USA].
In New Castle Presbytery, the PW organization consists of nearly 50 NCP congregations that have active PW groups. These groups conduct Bible Study, engage in church and community projects, and contribute to such offerings as the Birthday Offering, Thank Offering, and Fellowship of the Least Coin. PW in New Castle Presbytery truly endeavor to live out the PW Purpose, which follows:
PURPOSE
Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves:
To nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study,
To support the mission of the church worldwide,
To work for justice and peace, and
To build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (USA) and
witnesses to the promise of God’s kingdom.

Hearing It Directly
Several Presbyterian women had the opportunity to hear Monique Misenga, International Peacemaker in September tell about poverty in the Congo. It was moving. Sketching a historical background for the backdrop, she explained that the infrastructure was destroyed and numerous challenges exist. Families strive to have one meal a day. Education is provided for those who can pay. Conditions are heartbreaking. She assist women in setting up small business to provide food for the families. Churches are able to assist some as well with education. She had handmade products such as necklaces, tops and linens for sale. Women eagerly made purchases and gave donations. Supporting the Presbyterian Women Palm Project took on a deeper meaning. We were glad we made the trip to Dover to hear from our sister how we can help the Congo grow. (Thanks to Diane Edwards for the pictures.)
