MILEAGE REIMBURSEMENT NOTICE

(January 2017 Federal Mileage Reimbursement Rate is 53.5¢ and 27¢ for members of committees, commissions & units as indicated below)

Upon the recommendation of the Budget/Finance Committee of Council on November 10, 2010 and subsequently upheld at the March 11, 2015 meeting of Council, the mileage reimbursement for committees, commissions and unit members was reduced as follows:

“…the budget reduces the amount of mileage for persons attending committee meetings. The committee discussed either zero or 14¢ (the charitable rate) rather than the IRS rate of 50¢ per mile. It was decided to offer half the IRS rate. It was MSC to create an exception and pay the full IRS rate for the moderator and vice moderator and half the IRS rate for all others.”
