Healthy Boundaries

In accordance with New Castle Presbytery’s Sexual Misconduct Policy, “Every three years all teaching elder members and CREs of the Presbytery shall also attend refresher training on the subject of prevention of clergy sexual misconduct.  Such training will be offered at several locations across the Presbytery, or may be taken through another source satisfactory to the COM.”

CURRENT TRAINING FOR 2018 CLASSES IS AVAILABLE AS FOLLOWS:

BEYOND BASICS

  • Two classes were offered in March and May of 2018.  An additional class is not yet confirmed, however we do anticipate a class just prior to the Beach Retreat at the Hyatt Regency Chespeake Bay on February 28th.  This will be confirmed shortly.

ALTERNATIVE OFFERING FOR BEYOND BASICS

Stewards of Children ONLINE is a web-based program available anytime and and takes approximately 2.5-3 hours to complete. The cost for the online training is $10 per person.
This prevention training program teaches adults how to prevent, recognize and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. The program is designed for individuals concerned about the safety of children as well as organizations that serve youth. The online version allows individuals to take the training at any time or place, at a pace of their choosing.

BASICS – On-site training by New Castle Presbytery is not available at this time

National Capital Presbytery and Philadelphia Presbytery will welcome our basics participants to their classes.  Their online registration provides many options and also indicates the number of seats currently available.  (Confirmation will be provided by the respective Presbytery offices.) To register:

IMPORTANT FOLLOW-UP FOR TRAINING ONLINE OR OUTSIDE OF OUR PRESBYTERY:  Minister members are responsible for providing New Castle Presbytery with a certificate of completion for any class taken outside of NCP in order to maintain compliance with Presbytery mandated participation.  To insure the program is NCP compliant, please confirm with our Stated Clerk prior to participation*.  View the Sexual Misconduct Policy below for further details
