Korean Interns Have Arrived!

Last Tuesday evening Dr. Hwang. President of Daejeon Theological University arrived at the Philadelphia airport with two young women who will be serving for the next three months as our first Korean Interns. In-kyung Park and Minah Beom will be serving respectively at the Smyrna Presbyterian and Elkton Presbyterian churches.

During their first week with New Castle we managed to visit historic downtown Philadelphia, Princeton, New Brunswick and Richmond Presbyterian Seminaries, Salisbury University and enjoy wonderful receptions hosted by both congregations for their interns.

This internship program grows out of a memorandum of understanding signed by Dr. Hwang and the Council of New Castle Presbytery last spring. In October of 2012 Tom Picture1Stout and Jim Moseley accompanied by Grace and Jeff Howard traveled to Daejeon, Korea to visit the campus of Daejeon Theological University and Hanam University.

Our hope it that Daejeon Theological University and New Castle Presbytery can continue an exchange of students extend the program to include pastors as well. We have a standing invitation for interested pastors to teach short term courses at Daejeon Theological University. Any takers?

-Jim Moseley, Executive Presbyter
