Peace & Justice Team

The Peace & Justice Team fosters and encourages ongoing ministries of peace and justice at the Presbytery level while providing guidance and resources to congregations to include: 

​

  • Provide support and accountability for recognized peace and justice ministries recognized by New Castle Presbytery, including Presbytery-wide international partnerships (Guatemala and Congo).

  • Consult with individuals/groups that would like to propose a Presbytery-wide effort related to peace and justice, refining proposals for presentation to the Presbytery or for approval by the Peace & Justice Team

  • Annually invite continuing peace and justice ministries to a process of self-reflection and examination, celebrating both the ministries that continue and those which have come to a point of completion 

  • Invite congregations and pastoral leaders into the peace and justice ministries of the Presbytery and other partner organizations (Immigrant Justice Committee, Montgomery Group

  • Share information about the peace and justice ministries of the Presbytery with congregations and pastoral leaders

  • ​Hold responsibility for the Anti Racism policy of the Presbytery, with authority to approve trainings and other events to fill Presbytery requirements

  • Promote the inclusion of peace and justice focused education or activities at gatherings of Presbytery, including assemblies and retreats
