It Could Have Been Salisbury

(A Response from New Castle Presbytery Executive Presbyter, Jim Moseley, to the Orlando Shooting)

It could have been Salisbury, or Dover or Wilmington!  The horrendous shooting spree that took fifty lives on early Sunday morning could have happened in a venue near many of us.  The killed and injured could have been our friends … our family members.  The killer could have been an acquaintance or neighbor.  So, we must do everything we can not to distance ourselves emotionally from the darkness of what happened in Orlando.  The ruthlessness is unimaginable.  (Read more by clicking here).  Also, visit our Facebook page for shared posts regarding special services.

Balcony 2 of Council is Underway!

The Balcony 2 team has launched the next phase of our visioning campaign. We have spent time designing a listening process, engaging in introductory meetings, and prayerfully reading scripture together. Through that work, we have engaged North Star Strategies to facilitate a Presbytery-wide conversation over our expansive geographic area. That conversation has resulted in a survey which has been completed and is now being assessed by the Balcony 2 team, along with North Star Strategies.  Additional information regarding the outcomes will be in the Midweek Musings newsletter and will be reported at upcoming Presbytery meetings.

I always thank my God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus.  For in him you have been enriched in every way – with all kinds of speech and with all knowledge…”

~I Corinthians 1:4-5
