Prevention of Misconduct Training

In accordance with New Castle Presbytery’s Prevention Policy:

  • Pastors currently in the presbytery and are up-to-date on their boundaries training requirements are only required to participate in renewal opportunities every three years.

  • Pastors entering the presbytery need to show proof of having completed boundary training within the last three years. If pastors entering the presbytery have completed boundary training elsewhere within the last three years, they are not required to complete the “basic” training and enter our three year rotation.

  • Those entering the process as inquirers and candidates are required to complete a “basic” training as an initial requirement and then may stay current with renewal modules.

  • Pastoral leaders who have become significantly delinquent in their training, defined as two or more years out of compliance, will be required to re-take the “basic” training.

  • TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES

Anti Racism Training

As part of our commitment to dismantle structural racism, various anti-racism trainings are offered throughout the year. See below for current opportunities!

Compliance Training

NCP minister members, CREs and members of the Commission on Ministers & Congregations (COMC) and Commission on Preparation for Missional Ministry (CPMM) are mandated to complete Anti-Racism Training every three years.  The requirement is identified within the Dismantling Racism Policy of the NCP Manual. â€‹

  • 2024 Training: Open to anyone, and provided for pastor/committee member compliance (COMC/CPMM), mark your calendars for Wednesday, November 13, 10a-12p to attend virtual Anti-Racism training with Revs. Cindy Kohlmann and Shannon Hanson. The training focus will be on the Outlook special issue, #Reparations, "the goal of reparative work is healing and transformation". The issue acknowledges "Broken relationships, broken systems and structures, affect and oppress us all."

The $5.00 special issue of the Outlook is available now for pre-order with delivery in early September. Supplies are limited and although not required for the training, are a helpful precursor.

Registration is not required. Access the Zoom link here.
