About the Event
Please join us as we welcome Dr. Reba Hollingsworth, a retired African-American teacher, who was born in 1926 and overcame many obstacles during the era of segregation to graduate from high school and earn a degree in Home Economics Education at then Delaware State College (now Delaware State University). She later earned a master’s degree and doctorate in Counseling.
Dr. Hollingsworth was appointed by former Governor Mike Castle to the Delaware Heritage Commission, on which she still serves. She also serves with our pastor, Rev. Dr. John Riley, on the Board of the Delaware Archives. Please plan on joining us on June 18th at 6:00 p.m. in our sanctuary to hear Dr. Hollingsworth relate her experiences of the civil rights struggle.
