Faith Community Nursing

January 15, 2026 - The transition from parish nursing to faith community nursing (FCN) reflects a shift toward a more inclusive, specialized practice recognized by the American Nurses Association (ANA) that emphasizes holistic care—mind, body, and spirit—across diverse faith traditions. While historically similar, modern FCN focuses on intentional spiritual care, health education, and advocacy through standardized, evidence-based practices. This month's Third Thursday Training provided an opportunity for discussion and resources to care for your congregation. With a special thanks to Patricia Colborn and Dr. Tom Pruski for their expertise and valuable resources.
