December 7, 2024 Presbytery Pause (TKeenan) - Jacob Marley and Bob Marley paid me a visit the other night.
Yes, both of them. And yes, it’s an unlikely pair.
One, of course, is a figure from Victorian English literature and the other an iconic Jamaican singer/songwriter and activist from the 1960s and ‘70s.
Both were “certainly dead, to begin with,[1]” as the Dickens classic, A Christmas Carol, says in its opening. So they were definitely ghosts.
