Gatherings/Events during Pride month

  • June 5

    • 6:30 p.m. First & Central Presbyterian Church (1101 N. Market Street, Wilmington, DE) hosts the Interfaith Community Pride Service. Come be a part of a gathering to remember, lament, hope and especially to celebrate our belovedness as LGBTQ+ people of faith and allies.

  • June 9

    • 11:00 a.m. Hanover Presbyterian worships "down by the riverside" with their "Pride in the Park" theme (Fox Point Park, Lighthouse Road, Wilmington, DE). Worship, followed by a picnic (bring a side dish) and join them!

  • June 13

    • 5:05 p.m. Riverfront Ministries (Hare Pavilion, 110 West Street, Wilmington, DE) welcomes Rob Swanson and his Jazz Trio for Jazz Vespers. Jazz Vespers will be a service of lament and apology alongside a commitment of love and celebration.

  • June 22

    • 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Journey to Freedom: A Juneteenth Celebration in Battery Park (1 Delaware Street, New Castle, DE) sponsored by Delaware First Health, New Castle County Government, New Castle County Executive Matt Meyer, Westminster Presbyterian Church-Wilmington and WHYY. Visit https://ywcade.org/Juneteenth to register to walk, join a team, donate, or become a sponsor to support our Racial and Social Justice programming.

  • June 23

    • 11:00 a.m. Hanover Presbyterian Church (1801 N. Jefferson Street, Wilmington, DE) worship features Rev. Brooke Scott speaking on "True welcome of LGBTQ+ individuals."

    • 6:00 p.m. First Presbyterian Church of Smyrna (118 W. Commerce Street, Smyrna, DE) will host an observance of Juneteenth in their sanctuary with newly elected Smyrna Town Councilman Alvin Pope. Councilman Pope will speak about his experiences growing up during the Civil Rights struggle in Delaware. A pie reception with questions, comments and discussion will follow in the church Fellowship Hall.

  • June 29

    • 3:00 p.m. New Castle Presbyterian Church will host a creative event of spoken word, visual art and music featuring artist Phoenix from Riverfront Ministries and pianist-extraordinaire Michael Hunter in their Meeting House (25 E. 2nd Street, New Castle, DE). A reception will follow in the CE building..

    • 5:05 p.m. Riverfront Ministries (Hare Pavilion, 110 West Street, Wilmington, DE) welcomes Phoenix, a queer poet and dancer for a night of Spoken Word & Dance. You will her her creative writing process and then will have a chance to write and perform your own pieces. Come just to listen, bring a prepared piece, or come open to list and then respond.
